Eye Exam
Why is your Eye Examination so important?
During your examination appointment, we not only check the prescription required for any spectacles but give your eyes a thorough health check at the same time.
As well as any eye health issues, we can also detect signs of high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol.

Myopia
Myopia (short sightedness) causes blurred distance vision. Spectacles are usually required for tasks such as driving or watching television.
Hypermetropia
Hypermetropia (long sightedness) causes blurred near/intermediate vision in its most common form. With this condition, spectacles are required for tasks such as reading and computer use.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism, sometimes known as "rugby ball shaped eyes", causes distorted vision for both distance and near. Spectacles may be required for both distance and near tasks.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia or "arms not long enough!" causes reduced near vision. It becomes apparent for most people in their mid-forties onwards. This can occur in isolation, or with myopia, hypermetropia or astigmatism. Spectacles are required for tasks such as reading.
